Are Homeless Being Dropped in Fort Wayne? Plus the Fort Wayne News!

Yes you read that right: Homeless/unhoused folks are being dropped off in Fort Wayne, IN from other cities. The City of Fort Wayne has issues fines to a few behavioral health hospitals in Indianapolis for this behavior. With homelessness on the rise in America, this could be considered a growing concern and we will monitor how it plays out.

The New Haven Quadrant is open and the new traffic pattern is being utilized. It has some up in arms, while other daily commuters have welcomed the change. Be sure to be safe if you're driving in Fort Wayne.

There is a new grocery store coming to Huntertown, IN! Located at Hathaway and Lima Rd, this new Kroger will be a great addition to the area and I anticipate it being very busy.

Lastly, we say goodbye to the Piere's/Century Music Venue after 6 additional years rebranded. Many wild nights were had in the place, and IYKYK!

Fort Wayne Needs a $10 MILLION DOLLAR Bail Out?! Plus the Fort Wayne News!

You read that right... Fort Wayne is in need of a $10,000,000 bail [...]

You read that right... Fort Wayne is in need of a $10,000,000 bail out! Fort Wayne has been self insured for many years now. Unfortunately, for the first time, not enough funds were budgeted for the required expense.

On a positive note, The Pufferbelly Trail is being extended on Union Chapel Rd and will connect surrounding neighborhoods to the local schools! This is a huge benefit to the area.

The City recently completed a new mural in the East Central neighborhood. The artwork is intended to honor the area's history as it continues to transform.

The Shoaff Park playground renovation is done! My favorite park just got a facelift. I look forward to taking my children.

The City continues to deal with water main breaks, as the total number of breaks is more than twice what City Utilities had planned for. The aging system is currently under repair and will take many years to upgrade.

The 4th of July fireworks display was moved form the AEP Building to Citizen's Square garage due to Falcon Eggs being at the top of AEP. City officials did not want to disturb the animals, so the display was moved.

Lastly, Parkview Field announced an expansion of Pediatric services by continuing an existing partnership with Cincinnati Children's Hospital. This is wonderful news for the area and could save lives!
